Kelford-Reiker Cycling Team
The Kelford-Reiker Cycling Team is a combination of riders from Canterbury and Mid-South Canterbury. The team has present and past Olympians but most of the riders are regional A grade riders including 2-3women. Our philosophy is simple; have respect for your team mates, ride to the best of your ability, communicate with each other, be committed to the team goal/s, and most importantly enjoy your racing and have fun!
The team sponsors consist of Kelford Engineering Services Ltd, Reiker Cycles, Timaru and www.mountainbikeguide.co.nz. These sponsors have a well developed and organized management team that ensures the Kelford-Reiker Cycling team portrays a professional image every time its riders represent the team. Management is commitment to its riders and with such commitment the team has gone from strength to strength. Everyone involved in the Kelford-Reiker team are looking forward to a competitive 2008 Benchmark season, bring it on!
Top Rider Mark Ryan
Marc’s achievements outside the Benchmark Series, is nothing other than impressive. From a Novice National Individual Pursuit (IP) Champion in 1999 Marc has developed into one of New Zealand’s finest endurance track and road rider’s. In 2000 as a Junior Marc set a New Zealand record in the IP and was also National Champ for the Points race, and Team Pursuits (TP). From here to the present day, Marc has continued these impressive results achieving creditable placing’s in World Cup events, World Track Championships, Oceania events, and becoming a National Champion in the Road Time Trial and National Criterium. Last year Marc was 2nd in the Tour of Southland, achieved a stage win and was a member of the winning team. Due to his heavy commitment to the New Zealand team for Bejiing Marc may miss a few of the Rounds in the Benchmark Series this year but you can bet that when he is there his presence will be felt by everyone
